“For contractors who work in areas without easy access to power, complementing their existing fleet with a VOLT can differentiate their business and help them win new jobs,” says Mike Sammons, Global Product Manager, ESAB. “VOLT users in logging, ski resorts, construction, off-roading, trail rides, maintenance and shipyards tell us the superior logistics of a battery welder help them set-up quickly and get the job done faster. With VOLT, they can bill by the project, not by the hour, and make more money by taking on more jobs in a day.”
The Renegade VOLT brings welding power to areas other welders cannot reach due to lack of primary power outlets or restrictions on gas or diesel engines. Powered by four DEWALT® FLEXVOLT® 12 Ah batteries, VOLT offers a Stick output of 10 – 130A and TIG output of 10 – 150A on battery power. With fully charged 12 Ah batteries and set to an output of 80A, the Renegade VOLT provides the power to weld with up to 33 (E6013) electrodes or TIG weld for up to 45 minutes on a single charge in standard operating conditions. Depleted batteries can be swapped for fresh batteries in seconds so users can continue working without interruption in the field, and the batteries also work with other FLEXVOLT products. VOLT also connects to 120V/240 1ph power. Sammons notes that VOLT performs even better than a regular welder because its patented “AMP+ Mode” can eliminate nuisance trips when connected to 120V primary. VOLT also provides up to 200A of power when connected to 230V primary, so fabricators can use it like a standard shop machine.
